Results of the Mermories-contest

Thank you very much for all participating in our first contest! I had so great time reading all the memories of Raiden you shared with us. I both laughed and cried. Some of you shared a very personal, intimated memories. I thank you for your honesty and courage!

To be fair for everyone who shared their memories, I have a short quotations of all the memories told. Please, go to our previous journal to read all the memories fully. I'm sure you won't regret it!

"As production was wrapping up on Rising and it was nearing release, I set out to actually become the greatest representation of the man himself that the world has ever seen in order to celebrate such a momentous occasion. But not only that, I would not be satisfied until someone extremely close to the actual character firstly acknowledged my appreciation, then approved of it. That goal was reached on February 18th 2013, when I personally met with Atsushi Inaba of Platinum games and Yuji Korekado of Kojima Productions at the MGR launch party in LA. Xailas7

"We sped through the Tanker mission, and so far, i was impressed. Then we get to the Elevator. Here we see Raiden, taking off his mask, and I hear from my boyfriend, who is sitting behind me, snicker and say "man, hes HAWT."

He was kind of a little 'frivolous' boy and the first impression had not given me a much. So I spent a whole year to tell my love that it was not true, that he was more beautiful than Raiden." "If MGS2 gave me hope, MGS4 gave me strength. Even in the most painful and dire of situations, Raiden was able to return to a family that loved him, scars and all. "I  remember hitting refresh on my browser waiting for the Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer to go up online secretly hoping Raiden would be in it. When I saw Raiden tell Snake it was his turn to protect him, I had goosebumps.
Whenever people ask me why I use the handle "Jack" on the internet I tell them it's because Raiden is my favorite video game character." ShadowKitty777

"In MGS2, while in underwater Raiden could kiss the posters that were in the wall in the sunken part of the ship. I kissed those posters so many times, just for giggles and laughs. " MindForcet

"My favorite memory of Raiden will always be at the end of MGS 2 with the malfunctioning Colonel AI. That thing scared THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS out of my when I first played it! I honestly had to tell you you guys didn't make choosing the winner as an easy job, not at all! I wish I could give games for everyone! Your memories really took me by surprise and I want to thank every one of you.

Her story of the loss of a boyfriend who introduced her to Raiden was very touching. Despite that he isn't no longer here and Lace Winged Saby has an emotional connection between Raiden and her boyfriend, she still thinks him with happy thoughts instead of mourning.  The level of the intimacy in this story was touching. She was very brave for sharing her story with us. It's not easy to overcome with a loss of someone you love, especially loss of a spouse.

"I have to be honest, I have never liked metal gear solid, simply because I had seen the game and Snake was not a character that I liked.
About three years ago, my boyfriend started to tell me that a certain "Raiden" was prettier than him (he also was blond too) and that I would have left him to escape with this guy.
I did some research and I have seen small parts of the gameplay of this fateful Raiden, precisely the time when he was stripped of his clothes!! Gosh I laughed so much! He was kind of a little 'frivolous' boy and the first impression had not given me a much. So I spent a whole year to tell my love that it was not true, that he was more beautiful than Raiden.
Slowly my boyfriend showed my the game in a better way, explaining the story of Raiden from the bottom. I began to appreciate it, and together we had fun doing roleplay. Both hated Rose because she had tricked Raiden, so everytime we did the RP we used my OC Luj (the mgs black haired girl that you can see in my gallery).
I knew then MGS4, finding a Raiden a bit weak, human, worried about being abandoned. I convinced my boyfriend (during the game) that I would never have abandoned him as had happened to Raiden. Unfortunately, my boyfriend has "left" me cuz of cancer in October 2011.
I continued, however, to seek information on Raiden and I approached more and more to the character.
Each time I see Raiden, I see my love.
Maybe you can think that this comment is a fake, but I can assure you that I'd rather write something normal as a fangirl by having my boyfriend at my side now.
In any case, finding that Konami wanted to make a game only with Raiden, I felt almost relieved and happy. I began reading and seeing what's going through our "poor" cyborg and I feel a little 'more' strong, it may sound silly, but seeing the trailers, drawing him, I feel closer to my love, and I wish I could say that he was right and that FINALLY Konami made Raiden more beautiful than him! Ahahaha how bad am I?"
